01A clear overview
This notice explains how TradeInForeign handles information when you browse the marketplace, create an account, contact a seller, post a listing, buy a platform service or ask our team for help. The information involved depends on which features you use.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@tradeinforeign.com. Information you give directly to an independent seller, payment provider or another linked service is also subject to that party's own practices.
02What we collect
We handle information you provide and technical information needed to deliver the website.
| Information | Examples and source |
|---|---|
| Account & profile | Name, email, sign-in credentials, and the phone, location, address or shop details you provide. If you use Google sign-in, the account information returned through that sign-in flow is used to identify your account. |
| Marketplace content | Listing titles, descriptions, prices, photos, shop information, adverts, saved items and messages you submit. |
| Payments & support | Payment references, amounts, currency, verification results, and the name, email and enquiry you send through the contact form or support channels. |
| Technical information | IP address, browser and device information, session identifiers, currency preference, and operational or security logs generated when you use the service. |
03How we use it
- Provide the service: create and manage accounts, display listings and shops, save preferences and deliver messages.
- Manage platform purchases: initialise and verify payment, activate eligible listings or adverts and investigate charge problems.
- Support you: answer enquiries, resolve account issues and handle reports or requests.
- Protect the community: detect misuse, limit spam, investigate fraud and maintain reliable operation.
- Meet applicable obligations: keep necessary records and respond to lawful requests.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, the relevant basis may be delivering a requested service, a legal obligation, a legitimate operational or security interest, or consent where it is required. The appropriate basis depends on the activity and applicable law.
04What others can see
Listings, adverts, seller profiles, shop details and the contact or location details you choose to publish can be viewed by visitors. Public content may appear in search engines or be copied by others. Only publish information you are comfortable making public.
Messages are made available to their participants and may be accessed where needed to provide support, investigate abuse or meet a legal requirement. An enquiry sent through our contact form is delivered to our support email; it is not a public listing.
Keep sensitive details out of messages. Never share passwords, card numbers, mobile money PINs or one-time security codes in a listing, marketplace message or support enquiry.
05Payment information
Platform fees are processed through Paystack or Hubtel. When you select a provider, checkout details such as the amount, currency, payment reference and account contact information required for that transaction are sent to it.
We retain the reference and payment verification information needed to activate a service, reconcile a transaction and answer an enquiry. Payment credentials are entered in the provider's payment flow. Read the provider's notice for its own collection, security and retention practices: Paystack Privacy Policy β and Hubtel Privacy Policy β.
08Retention & security
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to operate accounts and services, support transactions, resolve disputes, prevent misuse and meet applicable obligations. The appropriate period depends on the type of record and why it is needed. Payment or security records may need to be kept after a listing or account is removed.
Copies can remain in backups and logs until those records are replaced or expire under operational retention arrangements. We use safeguards such as account access controls and server-side verification to help protect the service. No website or transmission method can promise complete security. Protect your account and notify us if you suspect misuse.
09Your choices & requests
You can edit available account or shop details through your dashboard. You can also contact us to ask about information held about you, request access or correction, request deletion, raise an objection or privacy concern, or withdraw consent for processing that relies on it.
The rights and any conditions that apply depend on the law relevant to your request. We may ask for enough information to verify your identity and locate the account. We may need to retain particular records for lawful obligations, security or unresolved transactions; if a request cannot be fully completed, we will explain the relevant reason.
Send requests to info@tradeinforeign.com with the account email and a clear description of what you need. Do not email your password. You may also raise a concern with the relevant data protection authority. For Ghana, information on individual rights is available from the Data Protection Commission β.
